The frame design you see on the right was developed by Graham Hobart when framing his huge solo exhibition that was commissioned by the Booth Western Art Museum and went on display in 2021-2022. Click here to see a virtual tour of how the exhibition looked.
In his effort to draw attention to the plight of wildlife and their habitat Hobart prints his work on museum rag and gives it the nostalgic feel of an old victorian lithograph. Hobart explains "I want to take your imagination back to a time long ago when wild animals roamed freely across environments that were barely touched by man's presence".
Hobart then surrounds and protects his art in frames that have the look of charred wood so that the viewer never forgets that animal populations only began to rapidly decline during that same time, around 200 years ago, when the scorched-earth policies of governments disregarded the needs of the natural world in the name of "Progress".
The selection of equally scaled prints and frames below are meant to provide an easy way for you to visualize an art piece as it relates to relative size, image composition and the print's proportion-to-frame thickness.
When you purchase an art piece by Graham Hobart you are directly contributing to his efforts to share his message. Graham Hobart is available to give lectures if you would like to invite him.
Please note that each image in our catalog has been carefully assessed for resolution and composition. As a result, image sizes available are not uniform across the entire catalog.
This particular frame design matches the "Larger" and "Very Large" frame designs (below). This means that you can mix and match sizes if you are building a collection of Hobart's work.
Each print is personally signed and given an edition number. The deckle-edged print gives it the look of being "handmade" and floats above the matte casting a distinctive drop shadow. The print is carefully attached along the underside of its edges with traditional Japanese archival tape. Should you ever want to reframe the print in the future you can dissolve the tape's adhesive with water without damaging the print.
Specially coated Museum Glass offers extra protection from UV light, humidity and unwanted reflections. The back of the frame has a certificate of authenticity. All materials that come in contact with the print are archival and acid-free.
These frames are a lot more substantial than the "Smaller" selection (above) but still match their deign. This means that you can mix and match sizes if you are building a collection of Hobart's work.

Specially coated Museum Acrylic offers extra protection from UV light, humidity and unwanted reflections while also reducing the frame's weight considerably. The back of the frame has a certificate of authenticity. All materials that come in contact with the print are archival and acid-free.
The extreme detail in Graham Hobart's images affords you the luxury of displaying some of his work on a very large scale. These frames have a lot in common with the "Larger" selection (above) but possess many advanced framing techniques because of the extra scale and weight. This means that you can mix and match sizes if you are building a collection of Hobart's work.

Sometimes only a square format makes sense whether it is because of the image's composition or just the wall space the framed print has to fit.
These frames have a lot in common with the rectangular selections above. The larger frames possess many advanced framing techniques and are glazed with museum acrylic in order to reduce weight. This means that you can mix and match sizes if you are building a collection of Hobart's work.
